brown deer under tree

Their tongues, like sharp knives ready to cut through me without a single drop of blood. Their faces, all masked hiding who they really were. I was like a deer, running from its predators, looking for a place to hide, trying to walk quietly and steadily to not attract attention; just one sound, one wrong move and I would fall into their trap, a trap difficult to run away from, where the pain was unbearable, where the feelings were like shots being put into my body, like darts of poison ready to sterilize my thoughts and push me down with harmful words... self-esteem and confidence were never there. My thoughts were alone lost in the woods full of ravaging animals... everything I did, everything I had, was worthless to them, I was just dust in the air, I was nothing compared to everything, anything. I was disgraced and I was told words full of hate... gradually my thoughts became immune, I was morphing into this powerful, courageous, cunning creature ready to bite those who dare harm me, a creature nobody would recognize.
