"I used to speak up a lot and be very confident when I was younger but multiple contributors in my life that made my spark die down, UNTIL, I decided I needed my spark back.

Being a people pleaser for a big portion of my life led me nowhere, I wasn't seen by others, I wasn't memorable, others saw potential in me and shortly after I was demoted at my jobs, I was always the "super nice girl" and that was it. I never really understood why that happened until I started questioning everything.

I was the one hindering myself. I was choosing not to be seen, I was choosing not to be memorable, all for the sake of comfort and people liking me. I wasn't saying what needed to be said, I wasn't defending my point when I needed to because I didn't want to inconvenience anyone.

Here is the interesting part, when I stopped caring about "inconveniencing" others and started using my voice, some people were bothered by it, some criticized, some assumed it was just a phase and it was difficult for me to deal with all of that because I was so used to being "liked". I had to remind myself everyday that those bothered by this shift in me were the ones benefitting from my lack of boundaries, it wasn't me, it was them!
